The American Legion is a non-profit community-service organization which numbers three million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.
The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans service organization, devoted to Americanism and to mutual helpfulness.

Members of the Legion and Auxiliary Units, of Richard A. Mitchell Post 51, Epping, NH, presented an awe-inspiring POW/MIA Remembrance Service at the recent Mid-Winter Conference of the Department of New Hampshire, The American Legion, held in Laconia, NH, January 28, 2012.
