BAKE SALE A HUGE SUCCESS
Although it was a grey overcast sky, the members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 39, Warner, held their first bake sale through the courtesy of the Warner Market Basket on Saturday May 14, 2011.
Ten feet of tables contained mountains of goodies, all home- made, including brownies, cupcakes, cookies of all kinds, whoopee pies, desert breads and popcorn.
The proceeds of the sale will help defray the cost of the annual 5th grade boat trip sponsored by Post 39 Warner, for the Simonds, Bradford and Salisbury schools. The roundtrip goes from Portsmouth to the Isles of Shoals and features on-board hands-on marine exhibits.
Auxiliary President Virginia Dahlgren stated "we would like to thank all the parents who baked goods, the people who purchased them and for the donations received over and above the purchases made. We would also like to thank Market Basket for allowing us to set up our tables at the front door of the store."
